Zara to open largest store in the world. It will be located in Europe
Zara already has a store on Meir Street. “After learning about the new construction project, they decided to move their store here,” adds the president of Tans Urban Landmarks.
The new facility is still in the construction phase. Flemish media report that it will be one of the most expensive investments in the Belgian retail sector.
The new largest Zara store in the world will occupy three floors. Its area will take up 14,500 square meters. The upper floors will be occupied by the Belgian university Karel de Grote Hogeschool.
Construction of the new facility is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026. The Zara store is scheduled to open a few months later.

Inditex, which in addition to Zara also has Bershka, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Oysho in its portfolio, has had a successful year. The Spanish giant recorded a 7.5 percent increase in sales value to 38.6 billion euros. This translated into revenue of 22.3 billion euros, an increase of 7.6 percent compared to 2023.
Since the end of the pandemic, Inditex has recorded stable sales growth, with the value of the company's shares more than doubling in the past three years. This was influenced not only by online sales, but also by the expansion of the physical sales area.
