Since the beginning of 2025, Border Guard officers from Podkarpacie have detected nearly five hundred forged and altered documents of various types during border checks. Some of the latest cases of this type occurred in Medyka and Korczowa.
On Sunday, April 20, a Ukrainian citizen reported to the Medyka checkpoint because three fake Polish border control stamps were found in her passport. They were supposed to confirm alleged travel through the border crossings in Medyka and Korczowa, and at the same time legalize an expired stay.
The foreigner admitted to attempting to use forgeries and voluntarily submitted to a 6-month prison sentence suspended for two years. Her passport was seized and she was sent to Ukraine.

On the same day, Border Guard officers from the Korczowa crossing discovered a fake Ukrainian driving license used by a Ukrainian citizen leaving Poland.
The document was supposed to confirm the authorization to drive vehicles of almost all categories. The man was charged with using a false document, to which he admitted and voluntarily submitted to a penalty of 6 months of imprisonment with a conditional suspension for a year. The document was seized, and the foreigner continued his journey in the passenger seat

On Monday, April 21, a 41-year-old Moldovan citizen reported to the checkpoint for departure from Poland in Medyka. Border Guard officers determined that the Moldovan registration certificate that the man presented for inspection was completely fake. The document was detained and the foreigner was questioned as a witness.
