Sanitary inspectors have detected an overestimated number of enterobacteria in samples of ice cream sold from vending machines in the Warmia and Mazury region, according to the Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Olsztyn. The overestimated number of enterobacteria was confirmed in 9% of the samples tested. Such deficiencies may indicate inadequate hygienic conditions during production.
The Sanitary Inspectorate (Sanepid) reported that in the first half of 2025, 165 samples of ice cream were collected from vending machines in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. These were inspected for microbiological contamination. Fifteen ice cream samples were questioned , representing 9% of all samples collected.
