The Great Scale of Powerlessness: How Polish Law Puts the Brake on Large Investments
Airports, high-speed trains, and a nuclear power plant – all of this is needed for Poland to keep up with the most developed countries in the world. However, today, large-scale investments in infrastructure encounter many obstacles. These are complicated legal requirements, incompetence of officials, and sometimes the fear of the latter to make bold decisions.
The Legislative Council of "Rzeczpospolita", composed of representatives of the most important business organizations, postulates that investments of key importance to the country's economy should be given the green light. Its members and other experts agree to establish a government agency that would deal with large structural undertakings. It would group people who have already gained experience in implementing megaprojects in various institutions.
