The first test of the new government spokesman. Journalists called late at night

The choice of Minister Adam Szłapka as government spokesman was announced on Friday personally by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. - Thank you for this readiness, as always, to carry out the tasks, the real tasks that lie ahead of us - said the head of government to him at a press conference . At the same conference, the newly elected spokesman declared that he would be available to the media 24 hours a day. The idea to check this came to two television stations almost simultaneously - Telewizja Republika at 10:47 p.m. and wPolsce24 at 10:55 p.m.
Journalists called Adam Szłapka. "And on Friday"Ultimately, however, only the second station decided to make a call. "Since we have a new spokesman who announced that the phone will be answered 24 hours a day, I'll pick up the phone. So, shall we call?" Magdalena Ogórek asked the co-host of the program Stanisław Janecki. "We call," the journalist replied without hesitation. "The mailbox," Ogórek said.
Szłapka called back less than a minute later. "One point for you, because we checked the credibility of your words. We showed viewers the footage from the conference that you would be on call 24 hours a day, and that's true. Dear viewers, 10:56 p.m. and the minister picked up," Ogórek stated. "And on Friday," the newly elected spokesman interjected. "Bravo. Especially since you won't start your term until July 1," Janecki added. "Thank you. In that case, I send my warmest regards to both the viewers and you, and I wish you an enjoyable program," the politician replied.
But it didn't end with the phone call. "If we can take advantage of the opportunity to hear you, if you were to quickly point out one success of the Polish presidency of the European Union, which one would you point out?" Ogórek asked. "First of all, I would point to the SAFE program. It's a big program, 150 billion euros for the development of the European Union's arms industry, a lot of it for Poland," the spokesman replied.
- It has probably never happened before that from the directional political decision made at the beginning of this year to the final agreement and preparation of the program, it was negotiated in such a short time. Whatever the critics may say, this is really a very big success of the Polish presidency - explained the minister.
After the program, Ogórek responded to the whole situation and the fact that the sister station had a similar idea a moment earlier in a comment on social media. "Yes, Minister Adam Szłapka answered (it was late, in fact), answered the question very substantively and greeted the viewers. P.S. I didn't know about the colleagues in Republika, because I hosted a live program with Stanisław Janecki :)," she wrote.
