On Sundays, it's best not to go to the mountains at all. TOPR (Top Search and Rescue) has issued a clear message.

In recent hours, thought-provoking messages have appeared on TOPR's social media profiles. "Attention! Due to the disastrous weather forecast for tomorrow, July 27th, please refrain from any activities in the Tatra Mountains," we read. "A level 3 heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the Tatra district. The rainfall will be accompanied by thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 80 km/h, and possible hail.
TOPR appeals: Do not go to the mountains"In such conditions, the wait for help in the event of an accident may be significantly longer," the rescuers noted. TOPR representatives also appealed for the widest possible publicity for their weekend announcement. "Please share this warning," they wrote on Facebook. The warning came shortly after TOPR reported increased tourist traffic. They emphasized that this translates into a higher number of people requiring assistance.
Since the beginning of the week, this number has reached 35. Major rescues took place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 24th. The rescuers, by recalling their actions, wanted to remind tourists that on normal days, their work is exceptionally difficult and time-consuming. In adverse weather conditions, it can become impossible.
Level three weather warningsAs the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reminds us, the third level of warning is the highest on the scale. It means that "dangerous meteorological phenomena are predicted, causing very significant damage or damage of catastrophic proportions, and posing a threat to life."
"Dangerous weather phenomena or their effects will prevent you from conducting business. Be prepared for significant disruptions to your daily activities. Extreme caution is recommended, and frequent monitoring of weather reports and developments is essential. Follow all recommendations issued by emergency services in the event of an emergency. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions," the authorities recommend.
