Nitras: I will file a complaint regarding the behavior towards Pogoń Szczecin fans
Minister of Sport and Tourism Sławomir Nitras asked the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak for a report on aggressive behaviour towards Pogoń Szczecin fans during the final match of the Polish Football Cup.
The head of the ministry assured that after receiving information from the police, he will file a report in this matter. Last week, at the PGE National Stadium, Legia Warsaw won against Pogoń Szczecin 4:3. The footballers of the capital club won the Polish Cup for the 21st time in history.
During a conversation on Radio Zet Nitras, he was asked about the final match of the Polish Cup, after which the disciplinary committee of the Polish Football Association received a letter from a woman who reported that her husband and son had been brutally beaten by fans of the capital team.
As Nitras said, tens of thousands of people came from Szczecin to Warsaw for the match. In his opinion, the fans of the Pogoń Szczecin club were beaten and humiliated. "They took their shirts, their scarves, they were beaten," he added.
"I asked Minister Siemoniak for a full report on this case, the police claim that they are only in the process of preparing this report," said Nitras.
The head of the ministry stressed that after obtaining information from the police, he will definitely file a report regarding the events that took place during the Polish Cup against the residents of Szczecin.
