This morning, Thursday, July 31st, in Sosnowiec (Silesian Voivodeship), began with exceptionally dramatic events. Around 5:00 a.m., police were called to an emergency in the area of Mikołajczyka Street. An aggressive man was running around the street with a machete in his hand. It turned out he had already damaged parked cars and a public transport bus. During the emergency, shots were fired. The man is dead.
When officers arrived at the scene, the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Instead of complying with the officers' orders, the man directed his aggression against them.
Police officers in Sosnowiec fired shots at a machete-wielding attacker. The man was fatally shot.The police had to act quickly – in the face of an immediate threat to their lives, they decided to use firearms.
Shots were fired , and the attacker was seriously injured. Emergency medical services were immediately called to the scene. Unfortunately, despite life-saving measures, the man died in hospital.
An intensive investigation is currently underway under the supervision of the prosecutor . Police are securing evidence and investigating the circumstances of this dramatic incident.
