He bought coal and lost money.

He bought coal and lost money.

It seemed he'd stumbled upon a bargain: eco-pea coal at a good price and fast delivery. Unfortunately, reality shattered his hopes.

Although the first cold weather is still a long way off, many residents of the district are already looking for winter fuel. Unfortunately, alongside honest sellers, scammers also operate online. A 56-year-old resident of our district learned this when he fell victim to a fraudulent offer to sell coal.

He reported to the Trzebnica police station on Saturday, July 26th. He told officers that he had found an ad for eco-pea coal at an attractive price on a website. The offer seemed credible. Promises of fast delivery and an affordable rate convinced him to buy it. The man ordered three tons of fuel and transferred nearly 3,500 złoty to the designated account.

Contact with the seller ended there. The victim received no order confirmation or information about the expected delivery date. Attempts to contact him by phone also proved unsuccessful – no one answered. It seems he encountered an online scammer.
