A botched job on Glazer? [PHOTOS]

At the end of 2023, we reported that Przemyśl city authorities had approved an application for funding for Glazera Street in Przemyśl, a street that has required intervention for many years and is traversed daily by hundreds, perhaps thousands, of cars. The city received a PLN 4.164 million, 549 grant from the Government Road Fund for the reconstruction of the road surface and sidewalks along a 1.150-meter section. The total cost of the project was estimated at PLN 6.966 million, 326, so the city had to contribute PLN 2.801 million, 777. At the time, we reported that work was scheduled to begin in July 2024 and be completed in September 2025.

A tender for the construction work was announced, and the bids were opened on March 25th of this year. Three proposals were submitted. The first: a consortium of PBI Insfrastruktura SA of Kraśnik and PBI WMB sp. z o. o. of Sandomierz for PLN 7,453,288. The second: Colas Polska of Palędzia for PLN 6,895,904. The third: Leszek Kochanowicz's service, trade, and manufacturing company of Raniżów for PLN 5,738,636.

The city authorities decided to choose the cheapest one, and the choice was determined 60 percent by price and 40 percent by the warranty period...
