Cut back hedges and individual plants of santolina ( Santolina chamaecyparissus ), lavender , and rosemary with hedge trimmers to just above the base of this year's flower stems. Do not cut into the woody growth below the lower leaves.
Harvest blackberries by cutting off the branches with ripe fruit – this way you've pruned them at the same time. Cut the entire branch back to the base.
