Old acquaintance returns to Meerdijk to take revenge on the Sanders family in GTST

The Sanders family has been having a hard time for months in 'Good Times, Bad Times'. While Nina (Marly van der Velden, 37) went crazy from mysterious knocking sounds, which made her believe in a poltergeist, tensions also rose between Ludo (Erik de Vogel, 64) and Janine (Caroline de Bruin, 62). The reason? An old acquaintance wants to take revenge on the family.
"That must have been hell"
Viewers saw how Ludo slowly lost control. Henriëtte Castro (Puck Pomelien Busser) turns out to be kidnapped by Raoul Dieleman (Ed Nouwen), who is not dead at all, and yes: Andrea (Adriaan Laureano) is also in on the plot. But the biggest surprise? The mastermind behind it all is none other than Ludo's grandson Valentijn Sanders, played by Vincent Visser.
Valentijn wants to settle the past and get back at his family for what was done to his father, Nick Sanders. Nick, played by Christophe Haddad, disappeared from Meerdijk in 2015 after a failed revenge campaign and was sentenced to twenty years in prison for the kidnapping of Lucas and the murder of a business partner of Ludo.
Now Valentijn returns with heartbreaking news: his father Nick died in prison nine months ago. Ludo refuses to believe it, but Valentijn reads him a farewell letter that Nick wrote just before his death.
"Dear boy, if you read this, I'm gone," the letter begins. Nick shows regret: "I wish I could have been there for you more. That I could be with you and help you. Then you wouldn't have had to live with my father, that must have been hell." He continues: "Know one thing Valentine: it destroys you inside when your own family doesn't accept you. And the worst part is that it took away the best years I had with you."
According to Valentijn, Ludo is the culprit. He thinks his grandfather has destroyed Nick and is determined to take revenge. As if that wasn't enough drama, Valentijn has also lured the rest of the family to the location of Ludo's kidnapping with a deepfake video. What exactly he plans to do remains unclear. But the episode ends bloodcurdlingly, with Valentijn pointing a gun at his grandfather.
You can watch Good Times, Bad Times every Monday through Thursday at 8 p.m. on RTL 4. You can watch it in advance at Videoland.
