"They violated the privacy of children and doctors": Garrahan Hospital sued Futurock and Julia Mengolini
Garrahan Hospital authorities filed a formal complaint against Futurock radio station for a broadcast from one of the hospital's entrances. The highly complex pediatric center asserted that the program " directly and indirectly violated the privacy of children, families, and healthcare personnel ."
"The broadcast was carried out without any authorization, despite the hospital having previously requested that the radio station authorities refrain from doing so," the hospital reported on social media. The program aired last Thursday, as part of a new 24-hour strike by the institution's workers due to the complex economic situation they are experiencing. One of the people included in the complaint is journalist Julia Mengolini , who in recent weeks has become the target of criticism and accusations from the National Government.

According to Garrahan authorities, during the broadcast, " disturbing noises were generated, normal operations were disrupted, and the hospital's facilities were put at risk by the installation of an electrical grid ." During Thursday's broadcast, journalists and the Futurock team went to one of the entrances to the pediatric center to support the workers' and patients' demands and share their testimonies on air.
"We ask the entire community, especially the media, to be aware of the courage and seriousness required by the Garrahan Hospital. We cannot allow the most important pediatric hospital in Argentina to be used to carry out actions that affect the well-being of children, nor to hinder the work of health personnel, who do not respond to political interests," they added.
For their part, the Garrahan employees responded to the complaint and denied the lawsuit. "The program was located above the staff entrance, not the patient entrance. We thank Futurock for giving us the opportunity to inform the public about the current situation at our hospital ," the self-convened employees stated, asserting that they were the ones who requested the media outlet's presence.
