Best Beaches in Rhodes, Greece: A Guide to the Pearls of the Aegean Sea

Rhodes is one of the most beloved islands for many reasons: from its charming medieval old town , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to its archaeological sites such as the Acropolis of Lindos, to its delicious gastronomic culture. Rhodes also boasts 300 days of sunshine a year , making it an exceptional destination where you can relax on the beach and swim in its splendid waters, fully enjoying the Greek holiday mood .
But what are the best beaches in Rhodes , Greece, where to go this summer ? Here are our tips!
St. Paul's BayIf you are visiting Rhodes , a trip to Lindos is a must. This charming old village is built around the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes and extends to several beautiful beaches, including St. Paul's Bay, one of the most beautiful spots in the entire Dodecanese. With its clear, magical waters, excellent facilities and breathtaking topography, it is the ideal place to spend a day relaxing in the sun and enjoying traditional Greek hospitality.
The name comes from the apostle Paul who, according to the stories told on the island, landed in this bay in 43 AD during his travels to spread the new Christian religion. With a crescent shape, surrounded by rocks and vegetation, the beach is not very large : if you visit in high season, we recommend going early in the morning.
Anthony Quinn's BayOn the island’s northeast coast, couples and others relax among the aquamarine waters and jagged rocks of Anthony Quinn Bay . This dreamy spot takes its name from the American actor who starred in the 1961 film “The Guns of Navarone,” which was filmed on Rhodes.
This beautiful rocky and circular bay is perfect for snorkeling thanks to its seabed rich in marine life. However, there is not much sand to lie down on, so be prepared to sit or lie down on the large rocks that characterize it. For those who want to combine relaxation and active tourism, it is possible to reach it by following a 6.5 kilometer long path starting from Faliraki. The route takes about an hour and a half and is considered of medium difficulty.
Fourni BeachIt is one of the most secluded beaches in Rhodes and reaching it is an experience in itself. The road that goes down from Monolithos Castle to Fourni beach is in fact one of the most beautiful routes to take on the island because it leads along winding and spectacular cliffs, until you reach your destination.
Since it is a very rocky beach , we recommend bringing appropriate shoes with you and not missing out on a visit to Monolithos Castle: from here you can enjoy incredible views of the coast , spot some goats hopping on the mountain and take amazing photos.
Agathi BeachIf you are looking for the ideal beach to relax, mark Agathi. Located 35 minutes south of Faliraki and 20 minutes north of Lindos, it is a beautiful and large beach , completely sandy, with plenty of space available to lay out your towel. In addition, it is well equipped and you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as use toilets, showers and changing rooms.
On the right side of the beach there are some interesting underwater rock formations , ideal for snorkeling. On the left side, instead, you will find the small chapel of Agia Agathi (Saint Agatha), dating back to the 14th-15th century, from which the beach takes its name.

Are you a fan of water sports ? Then the perfect beach for you is Prasonisi! This is considered one of the best spots for windsurfing and kitesurfing in Greece . Don't worry if you don't have the necessary equipment, here you can rent everything you need.
Located at the southwestern tip of Rhodes, it is characterised by a long strip of sand that connects the island of Prasonisi (hence the name of the beach) to the mainland.
In summer it presents itself to tourists as a sandy peninsula that offers water fun on both sides of the beach. In winter, however, the waves and the tide transform it into an islet, accessible for most of the year, protected by Natura 2000 and equipped with an abandoned lighthouse.
Tsambika BeachFinally, for those looking for a beach with wild scenery, we recommend Tsambika. Located 25 kilometers south of Rhodes town, this beach boasts soft golden sand and is considered one of the most beautiful on the east coast of the island . Characterized by crystal clear turquoise waters and an imposing 240 meter high rock on which stands the whitewashed Tsambika Monastery , it offers a breathtaking landscape ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun.
Being completely safe for children , it is especially popular with families, who can enjoy numerous amenities such as umbrella and sunbed rental, as well as a variety of water sports facilities, beach bars and several accommodation options in the surrounding area.
