Youth Soccer: Pisane sets record in regionals

Pisa, July 14, 2025 – Youth football from the province of Pisa is a major player at the regional level in this new 2025/26 football season, which began on July 1. This is a record-breaking season for the number of teams eligible to participate in the regional championships. Never before has a season seen so many teams from the province of Pisa competing in the FIGC regional championships. Twenty-six teams, including six Elite teams, have competed. The most prestigious and important category, the Juniores Regionale Elite, is held by three Pisan clubs out of the sixteen regional clubs. This title is held by Fratres Perignano, San Giuliano, and Mobilieri Ponsacco: the first two with their first team in the Eccellenza division. The Juniores Regionale will instead feature Cenaia, Bellaria Cappuccini, San Miniato, Fornacette, Urbino Taccola, and newly promoted Calci and Stella Rossa di Castelfranco. As for the Allievi , the Regional Elite is held only by Oltrera di Pontedera, the only Pisan team of the sixteen competing. In the Allievi Regionali, we find Fornacette, Calci, San Giuliano, Forcoli, and Bellaria Cappuccini, who all survived the relegation phase. Romaiano, who won the championship, and Monteserra, who lost a play-off and was subsequently re-admitted. In the Allievi B di Merito, newly promoted Monteserra won the regional Giovanissimi championship. In the Giovanissimi Regionali Elite, only one Pisan team remains, Monteserra, who won the regional championship last season. Fornacette, Calci, San Giuliano, Oltrera, and Pisa Ovest, who all maintained their division, will compete in the regional division. Fratres Perignano, who won the championship, Atletico Etruria, who won the play-off against Forcoli, and Forcoli, who also lost the play-off and was subsequently re-admitted. Especially in this category, it is rather unlikely that the Federation will group all the Pisan teams into a single group.
