Weah is moving to Marseille, with Clauss on the right. Tudor is targeting the Nice fullback.

Not the Premier League, but Ligue 1, yes. Perhaps because he grew up in the French league, made his debut in the top-flight, and enjoyed his best seasons, Timothy Weah, after having closed the door on a move to Nottingham Forest, has now opened it to Marseille, the club that would like to bring him back across the Alps. The son of a famous footballer and Roberto De Zerbi's club have already reached an agreement, but one is still missing with Juventus, who expect to collect around fifteen million from the sale of the American. This money will be needed to bring in another right-back, where Igor Tudor also risks losing Alberto Costa (Sporting is interested in the Portuguese, but there's still a gap between Juventus's request and the Portuguese club's offer). Juventus need a full-back who can cover the distance in the Croatian coach's 3-4-2-1 formation (transformable into a 3-4-3), an asset in the new Juventus quiver who can provide assists for new signing Jonathan David. Among the names circulating, the favorite is another Jonathan whose last name is Clauss, a French defender from Nice whom Tudor knows very well, having had him during his time at Marseille. A very French-inspired connection.
Clauss is 32 years old, having previously played for Lens before joining Marseille, and has made 14 appearances for France. He's a strong attacking player, which is why Tudor appreciates him and would see him playing on the right flank. Clauss is inexpensive (Nice is asking between €7 and €10 million) and has a sustainable salary. In his last season with Marseille, he scored three goals and, more importantly, provided ten assists. Comolli, who is closely monitoring the French league, has added him to their database and could soon be ready to make a move.
Among the alternatives is Fiorentina's Dodò, who Cristiano Giuntoli has already been in talks with in recent months: the Brazilian (contract expiring in 2027) doesn't seem inclined to renew, but Fiorentina are starting with a high valuation (€25-€30 million). They're also interested in youngster Marco Palestra of Atalanta and Silvan Widmer of Mainz.
Meanwhile, the transfer of Weah will need to be finalized. The player, acquired two summers ago from Lille for €12 million, was courted by Nottingham during the Club World Cup: Juventus and the English club reached an agreement, but he rejected the transfer, also ruining Samuel Mbangula's move to the Premier League. Marseille, on the other hand, is a popular destination for the outfielder, and the two clubs are already in discussions. The deal is expected to be a loan with an obligation to buy upon reaching certain conditions, for a total fee of around €15 million. The player will earn €2.5 million over five years. Another of Tudor's favorite players is central defender Leonardo Balerdi, a 26-year-old Argentine. The Croatian is the right man to bolster the defense, which will also have a key player in Gleison Bremer after a season sidelined with cruciate ligament surgery. The French have so far always considered him unsellable, but Juventus, amidst the ongoing discussions for Weah, will try to open a window. Mbangula-Bremen Mbangula is also on the way out, having been on Werder Bremen's radar. The Bianconeri value him at least €10 million and have no intention of making any concessions. Meanwhile, the player has given the green light to the transfer.
