Sinner wins Wimbledon: glory and millions

London. July 14, 2025 – Three million (and a half) in his pocket and a glory forever etched on the walls of the All England Club as well as in the pride of Italy as a whole. Behind that golden cup raised to the sky is more: a huge prize, practically worthy of a millionaire. Jannik Sinner , thanks to his victory over Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, takes home 3 million pounds, or €3,517,900 to be exact. Just under half (1,520,000 pounds (1,782,400 euros) awarded to his Spanish opponent. Wimbledon confirms itself as the slam of records, starting with the prize money: compared to the 2024 edition, the increase in prize money is quantified at +7%. Translated into numbers, it is around 300 thousand euros more than whoever took home the singles title last year. Rich prizes also for those who advanced a few rounds in the draw. Just think of Lorenzo Sonego : the Turin native, reaching the round of 16, pocketed 281,400 euros . Flavio Cobolli , even, stopped in the quarterfinals only by Djokovic (the Serbian then defeated immediately after by Jannik) enriched his wallet with around 470 thousand euros .

The South Tyrolean has earned a world-class prize pool since the start of 2025: well over seven million euros (including Wimbledon, of course). He's also earned forty-one million euros since the start of his career. That doesn't even include sponsorship income .

The victory writes "another page in the history of Italian sport," commented Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni . "Jannik Sinner triumphs at Wimbledon and makes an entire nation dream. Proud of you, champion!"

Jannik has now broken (almost) every record, but legend Nicola Pietrangeli isn't holding back: "Sinner is unbeatable. Right now, there's no one who can beat him, only Alcaraz could. He can play with an advantage. I'm happy, he's great, also because he's a clean and decent guy." And when the former Italian tennis player is asked about a possible Career Grand Slam , he says: "What's better than winning Wimbledon and being the world's leading tennis player? If he wins the Career Grand Slam, I don't see it as a miracle."

Sinner's immense performance defeats Alcaraz. He's the first Italian in history to win Wimbledon.

The political world sides with the champion, as do his colleagues, and so national pride" gives way to the words of Lorenzo Musetti, the Italian number two: "No words Jannik," meaning "speechless." The Tuscan tennis player is then closely followed by the recently retired Fabio Fognini: the Ligurian posts photos of an unforgettable moment on his Instagram profile.
