Run4unity will also take place in Arezzo on Sunday 4th May

Arezzo, April 30, 2025 – On Sunday, May 4, Run4unity, the global sports relay that, every first Sunday of May, touches hundreds of cities around the world, involving thousands of young people around a single goal: to promote peace and universal brotherhood through sport, play and concrete actions, will also take place in Arezzo. The 2025 slogan is "Embrace humanity, ignite change!" .
The event kicks off in Fiji, along the 180th meridian, where the new day begins. From there, young people pass the virtual "baton" from one time zone to another, symbolically uniting the Earth over the next 24 hours.
The initiative, which is promoted in Arezzo by the Centro Sportivo Italiano and the Focolare Movement, will take place at the Sandro Pertini Park, on Saturday 4 May, starting at 3:00 pm. It will host group games, multi-sports, creative workshops for children and families. In the mid-afternoon, the so-called “Time-Out”, a moment of silence dedicated to peace, in which to remember all those who live in places of war and disunity, and to send a very clear message: the world needs peace and unity and each of us must and can do our part!
The initiative is open to people of all ages, as long as they are willing to get “on the line”, living an intergenerational sporting experience under the one rule of Run4unity, which is the so-called “Golden Rule”, present in all the main religious and wisdom currents of the different cultures of the world: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and “Do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you”.
What is Run4unity?
Run4unity was born in 2005 as an initiative of the children and young people of the Focolare Movement, over the years it has seen the participation of various entities and associations, committed together, on the front line, to build and spread a message of peace.
Since 2023, CSI Toscana has also joined and promoted the initiative. On May 4, 2023, on the occasion of the 15th Run4unity, in fact, it launched the EduCARE Sport project, inspired by the teachings of Don Milani.
