Marquez makes a mistake, comes back, and wins the Sachsenring Sprint. Bezzecchi finishes second, Quartararo third.

In the Sachsenring Sprint, Marc Marquez did it all: he made mistakes, he fought, he recovered, and, of course, he won . On a wet track, the Spaniard started from pole position, but missed the first braking point, leaving the way open for Marco Bezzecchi, who was in first place. Marc didn't let his nerves get the better of him; he waited four laps to rebuild his race. First, he passed Di Giannantonio, then he started chasing Quartararo, and with six laps to go, he caught and passed him. At that point, only Bezzecchi was missing, who came into Marquez's clutches on the final lap. A crossing of trajectories at the first chicane, then Marc was gone, crossing the finish line with a lead of almost a second over the Italian .

For the Spaniard, it was a triumph , confirmed by the championship standings. He now has 319 points, extending his lead to 78 over his brother Alex (eighth at the finish line, recovering from surgery on a fractured left index finger) and 138 over Bagnaia. "I can't say I thought much about the championship," Marc smiled. "I made mistakes at the start, but then I found my pace. I'm happy because I managed to bring home a lot of points."

Bezzecchi has nothing to reproach himself for . He led the race for 14 of the 15 laps, but there was no way he could beat Marc, and second place was the best possible result. "It's disappointing to lose the battle in the end, but it was a positive day, and I'm happy. I hope we can race in the dry tomorrow," said the Aprilia rider.

Also on the podium, third place, was Fabio Quartararo's Yamaha, who managed to hold off Di Giannantonio in the final stages , who had to settle for a wooden medal. Jack Miller (Yamaha) finished fifth ahead of Brad Binder (KTM) and Johann Zarco (Honda). The last rider to score points was Pedro Acosta: a long-time contender for the podium, he ruined everything with a mistake that forced him to crash into the gravel.

A race to forget for Pecco Bagnaia. His 12th-place finish reflects his deep crisis, from which he can't see a way out .

Of note, Franco Morbidelli crashed on lap 3 while running second. The VR46 team rider was taken to the medical center for updates. The Grand Prix, however, was over for Maverick Viñales: he crashed in qualifying, suffering a dislocated left shoulder and a torn ligament.

Tomorrow the race will start at 2pm, live on Sky and free-to-air on TV8 .
