From cerebral hemorrhage to coma, to awakening: wife recounts Beccalossi's ordeal

A cerebral hemorrhage announced by a state of confusion, a coma lasting 47 days and the awakening:
Evaristo Beccalossi, former Inter midfielder, is recovering after serious health problems in recent months. His wife Danila told Corriere della Sera. The nightmare began on January 9, when a friend who was supposed to accompany him to Pavia found him confused at home. "Evaristo was conscious, he was talking but not everything he said made sense," his wife revealed. Beccalossi was admitted to the Fondazione Poliambulanza hospital in Brescia. "We will always be grateful to the intensive care unit and the rehabilitation unit. At the emergency room they immediately performed a CT scan on him, which revealed a cerebral hemorrhage."
After two days Beccalossi went into a coma and was admitted to intensive care. "The doctors with lucid honesty warned us: We don't know if he'll make it to tomorrow". The awakening after 47 days. And Evaristo's wife remembers Gianni Infantino's message: "He wanted Evaristo among the Legends, he's his idol. He sent us a beautiful and moving voice message that I made my husband listen to and listen to again when he was in a deep coma. Then some time later they made a video call".
Beccalossi will turn 69 on May 12. "Now he has the rehabilitation process ahead of him, it's still a long way to go," says his wife. "But, like a player, he doesn't feel like training. When he has to go to the gym he huffs and puffs." He watches Inter's games "in flashes on his phone," but when his daughter Nagaja (host of Inter Channel) asked him before the semi-final against Barcelona "who do you think will go to the final?" he replied: "Inter, obviously."
