Arsago Seprio - The prevention tour with the specialists of the Asst Valle Olona starts in Arsago Seprio - Health - Varese News

In collaboration with the participating municipal administrations, under the direction of the social health management of ASST Valle Olona, a series of activities and services dedicated to the promotion of public health are launched, as personalized as possible on the needs identified in the individual areas in order to reach the population in a capillary manner and make known the services carried out in the Community Houses and in the District.
Project slogan: “32 municipalities, one goal: Valle Olona for your health” .
Talking about proximity prevention means promoting a proactive approach towards the patient and the context of life. This new approach is based on the centrality of the individual in the process of taking charge of care, bringing care and prevention to the patient instead of vice versa, thanks to the intervention of mobile health teams.
"The aim of prevention is to improve the quality of life of the population by increasing healthy years, reducing preventable mortality and institutionalization. Prevention works through intersectoral partnerships, the empowerment of people (citizens, consumers, workers) and businesses/institutions, the identification and removal of risks (surveillance, controls) and the direct provision of services. The Regional Prevention Plan and the Pandemic Plan are the reference programmatic acts - underlines the socio-health director of ASST Valle Olona, Dr. John Tremamondo - Health promotion interventions act on different settings (school, work environments, local communities, health service), concern the entire course of life in a differentiated way and act on the modifiable determinants of health status (for example, smoking, alcohol, incorrect diet, sedentary lifestyle)".
Several scientific studies have demonstrated the importance of prevention and health promotion to reduce the incidence of disease and mortality and consequently the costs for the National Health Service (NHS) and for society but also to promote the maintenance of well-being and quality of life.
Diseases such as type 2 diabetes, some types of cancer, and dementia are partly preventable. Nearly 80 percent of heart disease and strokes are preventable if people are willing to make lifestyle changes.
In a modern concept of health, its promotion and prevention must be focused on joint actions of various sectors of society, mainly on modifiable behavioral risk factors and on social, economic and environmental determinants of health, without forgetting the importance of early diagnosis, the crucial role of vaccinations and the fight against inequalities.
The project, which kicks off on May 10 in Arsago Seprio, will subsequently be extended to all the remaining 31 municipalities in the Olona Valley.
All the professionals present in the Territorial Center (IFeC, Health Assistants, Family and Community Midwives, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists and Dieticians) will contribute to the construction of tailor-made initiatives in each Municipality in relation to the needs expressed, the available spaces, the period identified.
The project's areas of intervention will be: chronicity and fragility, maternal-infant and adolescent area, promotion of secondary prevention (screening).
