Tuscany, the report cards for the honorables: Fossi and Furfaro top of the class, but Donzelli is the 'strongest'

Florence, May 16, 2025 – In in practice we have reached the halfway point of the XIX legislature. It is worth asking if and how much the Tuscan delegation has influenced the economy of the work of Montecitorio and Palazzo Madama . To find an answer, however, it is not necessary to comb through the agendas and resolutions of the individual parliamentarians who have ended up under the lens. Those who, more or less, weigh and influence the domino of the next regional elections. The database of the OpenPolis foundation takes care of that.
OppositionsThe secretary of the Chamber proceeds to the roll call. But Renzi's most loyal follower, Francesco Bonifazi , does not answer the call 6,827 times out of 11,000 and some. "He is the party treasurer, it's normal", this is how they justify him in Italia Viva. The strength index in the Chamber estimated by OpenPolis based on the positions held is equal to 0.08% (375th out of 400 parliamentarians). The "reliability" index does not go beyond 38%. Problems of compactness? After all, the regional commissioner of Iv identified by the former prime minister to normalize the waste of the post-Danti season stands out for "rebel votes": a good 166, or the times in which Bonifazi voted differently from his own group. "They are linked to when we were a group with Azione and had different orientations. Considering the total votes, the number is irrelevant", the Renzians cut short. Yes, the parenthesis of the (former) Third Pole with Carlo Calenda. Matteo Renzi, however, boasts the highest rate of attendance in the Senate among the opposition leaders (54%). In the Chamber, Elly Schlein stops at a miserable 25%. The former mayor of Florence has been in Rome for 7 years, in '22 the right college was the one in Campania.
As for Nazareno, Schlein can count on two Tuscan standard-bearers: Fossi and Furfaro . The regional secretary is in his first round of the Chamber. Attendance in the chamber is close to 75%, the reliability index is close to 80%, the total of rebel votes is miserable (only in 8 cases) and the proposed laws are from the hard and pure left. Like the battle to oppose the delocalization of production activities (the ex Gkn dossier teaches). The other loyalist, Furfaro from Pistoia is a champion of bills filed: 15 as first signatory, 2 converted into law. One on the protection of the rights of cancer patients, the other in favor of the homeless. The Florentine PD deputy Federico Gianassi is impeccable. For reliability (99.7%), attendance in the chamber (93.3%) and for smudges reduced to a minimum on the rebel votes. Only 23. The 12th parliamentarian by strength index comes from Pietrasanta: his name is Riccardo Ricciardi and since he presides over the 5Stelle group in Montecitorio he is even more Conte's armed wing. Reliable for OpenPolis 66% of the time, present at 7 thousand votes, bastian against the Movement in only 29 cases.
MajorityVice-president of Copasir, seventh out of 400 for strength index with two commissions of inquiry on his curriculum (Mafia and Forteto), in disagreement with his colleagues in the 9 times in which orders of the day of his rivals from the Democratic Party and the Five Star Movement were accepted. The national head of the FdI organization, Giovanni Donzelli , stands out among the Tuscan iron-clad Melonians. His approval for the appointment of Francesco Michelotti as regional vice-coordinator. Born in Siena in 1983, in his first mandate as a deputy, already a rapporteur for Palazzo Chigi on the reform of justice and the flow-bis decree, president of the commission of inquiry into the shocking events at Forteto. His, for OpenPolis, is a great report card: 100% as a reliability index, anything but absentee (4.2%, a record).
Then there is the number two of Forza Italia Deborah Bergamini . Who would be the number four in the running for unitary governor for the center-right. What can I say, a Viareggio native in her 17th year in Parliament, undersecretary of State with Draghi in government, sitting in her seat 56.8% of the time, reliable at 60%, few rebel votes (25), including, the only one in the entire majority, to reject in February '24 an amendment by the president of the culture commission in the Chamber Mollicone (FdI) on "historical reenactment events and the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage".
The other Forza Italia member with an 8 on the report card is Erica Mazzetti from Prato: present at 84% of the votes, reliable at 89.9%, waiting for the process of her bill regarding the framework law on the development of marine islands to begin.
