Claudio Durigon, Undersecretary of Labor and Deputy Secretary of the League , thus responds to Affaritaliani.it 's question on what will be in the next Budget Law for 2026 on the pension front. "It is necessary to continue on the path of strengthening the second pillar both as income support and as an incentive to leave the world of work earlier for those who want and request it. And this applies to both the public and private sectors. The rule was already included last year and, despite the resistance of some managers of the Ministry of Economy and Finance who say they are against any intervention on the pension front, in full agreement with Minister Giorgetti, head of the Mef, we will certainly find in the budget the solution to give strength to the second pillar of the pension system".
As for the new scrapping of tax bills, a point on which the League has been pushing hard and for some time, Durigon states: " It will certainly be done . There have already been many discussions in the federal councils of the League and our proposal is proceeding with its bureaucratic process in the Senate. As Minister Giorgetti announced, we are convinced that it can be included in the annex to the Budget Law after which the implementing decrees will be needed". Will it be in force by the beginning of 2026? "I cannot give certain dates, but certainly as soon as possible next year. It is a scrapping of 120 installments in ten years that we have been working on for some time that allows us to help and get back into the game those who are in difficulty by regularizing themselves with the Tax Office by extending the payment times . A measure that will give financial relief to around 20 million Italians and a great boost to the national economy", underlines the Undersecretary of Labor.
Forza Italia insists a lot on cutting the Irpef rate from 35 to 33% for the middle class, up to 60 thousand euros gross per year. Does the League agree? " Absolutely yes, everything that can be implemented as a reduction in the tax burden is a positive fact. It certainly does not change the life of the middle class but it is an injection of liquidity . It does not radically change the scenario for that income bracket of taxpayers but lowering taxes is always good and we hope to include this measure in the budget". As for the extension of the flat tax, Durigon states: "For VAT numbers today the flat tax ceiling of 15% is 80 thousand euros per year and we want to extend it up to 100 thousand even if we have to break a European constraint. But we believe that it is necessary to intervene further. Not only that, in the budget the League aims to also bring the flat tax to 5% or even 3% for young Italians who return to work in our country from abroad . It would be the first time that the flat tax on subordinate work has been applied. It is a bill presented by our deputy and youth leader Toccalini and we aim to include it in the Budget Law".
The deputy secretary of the League then adds: "We are only at the beginning of July and there could be more in the maneuver that will come to life in August-September, but in the meantime those that I have listed are the priorities of the League". And on the rumors of a cancellation by the government of the single and universal allowance for children, the undersecretary of Labor is very clear: "We need in this historical moment to support families with children and therefore the measure of the single allowance will certainly be confirmed also for 2026 ".
