Calabria Democratic Party: "Support for Tridico for the regional presidency."

The regional leadership of the Calabria Democratic Party unanimously approved Secretary Nicola Irto 's report on the upcoming regional elections. With this decision, the Calabrian Democrats launch a unified coalition that includes the Five Star Movement and supports Pasquale Tridico 's candidacy for regional president.

The decision "came at the end of a broad debate on the secretary's report, which reaffirmed the Democratic Party's long-standing willingness to lead the center-left coalition," according to a statement from the regional Democratic Party. "But, with a great sense of responsibility, it did not intend to repeat the mistakes and divisions of the past, choosing to prioritize unity, with the goal of keeping all the reformist and progressive forces of the coalition united, which is now broader than ever. The regional leadership has therefore approved the political line indicated by Irto and has given the secretary a full mandate to continue on this political path."

"This choice," the official statement reads, "must provide a government of radical change for Calabria."
