Microsoft Cuts 9,000 Jobs, That's 4% of Total Workforce

MILAN – New round of cuts at Microsoft. The tech giant Microsoft plans to cut about 9,000 jobs, in what would be the second major wave of layoffs this year, aimed at containing the company's costs, after the one announced last May . Bloomberg anticipated it, underlining how - as reported by a company spokesperson - it is a number less than 4% of the total workforce of the company.

"We continue to implement the organizational changes needed to best position the company and its teams for success in a dynamic marketplace," the spokesperson said, citing Bloomberg. The layoffs follow a previous round of cuts in May, which affected about 6,000 employees.
