Inside the rooms of Raul Gardini's luxurious villa, on sale for 9.5 million

Ravenna, 10 August 2025 – The renowned and splendid ' Monaldina ' estate in Ravenna , the famous residence of the Romagna entrepreneur Raul Gardini on via Canale Molinetto, is for sale for 9.5 million euros .
The 'Monaldina' is not only a prestigious estate, but through its ownership with Raul Gardini (leader of the Ferruzzi Group and a leading figure in the Italian economy between the 1980s and 1990s), it is the custodian of a piece of the company's history.
The estate, nestled in the countryside between the city and the sea, was for years the place where Italy's industrial elite made decisions that influenced markets. Its sale is now publicized by its listing on the website of a Roman real estate agency specializing in luxury properties.
Recently, Monaldina lived in Gardini's daughter, Maria Speranza with her family.

Connoisseurs describe the Monaldina as "a place where time stands still and art lives." This statement is certainly no coincidence. The estate is indeed a style icon for absolute luxury, experienced in the utmost privacy.
The property extends across a 5-hectare English-style park and comprises four independent buildings, nestled in a garden of centuries-old trees and a holm oak hedge over a kilometer and a half long and three meters high. The heart of the estate is the villa, built in 1780, designed by Camillo Morigia (the architect of Dante's tomb) and listed as a building of historical value.

At the center of the park stands the ancient 800-square-meter barn, transformed by a joint project between Gardini and the architect Gae Aulenti. The original model of the Moor of Venice dominates the space, suspended in the center, with the Doge's gondola , a gift from the Serenissima, at its feet.
In detail, the 'Monaldina' is therefore composed of the eighteenth-century villa, flanked by a 144-square-meter 'guest house' on two levels, and a one-hundred-square-meter residence for the staff.

The large garden also features a heliport , a 14-metre-high monumental iron sculpture, ' Leonardo's Horse ' (created by Ben Jakober and Jannick Vu, featured at the 1993 Venice Biennale) and two swimming pools .
Adding to the estate's prestige is its location. Ravenna's historic center and the sea are just 4 kilometers away, accessible via a cycle path surrounded by greenery.
Indeed, the admirers are right. More than an estate, the 'Monaldina' is a true work of art, created by man and nature, where living is like dreaming.
The property was the protagonist of the documentary film 'Raul Gardini' broadcast by Rai in July 2023, chosen as one of the main stages where the opera was filmed.
