Home: Amirante, urban regeneration to benefit young people and workers

“Housing policies are one of the central themes on which the entire Regional Council is focusing its attention, with a transversal approach that involves multiple areas of intervention. The goal is not only to start urban regeneration interventions but also to make our territory more attractive with actions to support this sector”. This was stated today by the regional councilors for Infrastructure and Family, Cristina Amirante and Alessia Rosolen, speaking in Gorizia at the Legacoop assembly, as part of the round table entitled “Housing policies and attractiveness of the territory: projects, strategies and visions for sustainable development”. During the meeting, Amirante illustrated the regional guidelines that aim to identify urban regeneration areas suitable for hosting social housing interventions, subsidized and agreed-upon housing. The aim is to increase the public and private housing stock, to allocate it in particular to young people who choose to settle in Friuli Venezia Giulia after finding a job, as well as to people who fall into the so-called "grey band" of the population. To this end, the councilor recalled the approval of bill 36, a tool that makes available to private properties, businesses, professionals and citizens a fund dedicated to the regeneration and renovation of existing building stock.
“In this way,” Amirante explained, “the opportunity is created to recover properties to be allocated to residents, workers and students who choose to live in our region, with controlled rents and therefore more accessible to the needs of these categories.” “It is a comprehensive strategy,” the councilor concluded, “that aims to combine the protection of the territory, the enhancement of the built environment and the needs of those looking for a home, thus contributing to strengthening the attractiveness and competitiveness of Friuli Venezia Giulia.” During the debate, the regional councilor for Family, Alessia Rosolen, also intervened, who underlined how "it is evident that the housing problem, within the regional system, presents different implications depending on the sectors from which it is observed. Councilor Amirante has already approved a bill that starts an innovative path, making resources available to our system. Equal resources - added Rosolen - but above all guidelines must be developed in other areas as well. All this is strictly linked to the demographic data of our territory, to the role that businesses intend to play and to the capacity, together with social innovation regulations, that the Region has to attract new citizens".
