Buffett Donates $6 Billion to Charity. And “Losses” a Place in the Ranking of the Richest

MILAN – There is charity and charity. Warren Buffett 's is made up of nine-figure sums. And the latest, the highest ever for the billionaire and one of the largest in history, is worth a whopping 6 billion euros in shares of his company, Berkshire Hathaway .
In detail, the donation consists of 12.36 million shares of which 9.43 million shares to the Gates Foundation , 943,384 shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and 660,366 shares each to three foundations managed by his children Howard, Susie and Peter. With this last sum paid, the total amount of the donation given to charity thus exceeds 60 billion euros.
Before the donation, his wealth was estimated at $152 billion, making him the fifth richest man in the world, according to Forbes, and after the donation it should drop to sixth place.
Buffett began giving away his fortune in 2006 , and last year amended his will to leave 99.5% of his remaining assets in a philanthropic trust to be managed by his children.
