Bruno Malattia new president of the Friuli Foundation

As provided for by the Statute, the Steering Committee of the Friuli Foundation met today at the headquarters of Palazzo Antonini-Stringher in Udine to renew the composition of the Board of Directors, for which a single list was presented to prove, as in previous renewals, the compactness of the appointing bodies. With a unanimous vote, Bruno Malattia , Guido Nassimbeni and Francesca Venuto were confirmed and Giancarlo Basaglia , Mirko Clavora , Lorenza Driul and Paola Martini were appointed as new directors. The same Steering Committee then elected the Board of Auditors, composed of the effective auditors Andrea Cainero , chosen as president, Andrea Martini and Raffaella Rizza , and the substitute auditors Stefano Biasutti and Barbara Sette .
The Board of Directors, which met subsequently, elected from among its members the new president in the person of Bruno Malattia , already deputy vice president. At his side are the two vice presidents Guido Nassimbeni , confirmed now assuming the role of deputy and representative of the provincial territory of Udine, and Giancarlo Basaglia , representative of that of Pordenone.
At the time of the handover, the outgoing president Giuseppe Morandini , who led the institution for two terms, underlined the financial solidity achieved, equal to over 500 million euros, without ever failing over the course of eight years to provide contributions to support the territory of the two Friulian provinces of Pordenone and Udine. Suffice it to say that in 2024 alone, 594 interventions were financed. This despite the fact that exceptional challenges were faced, such as the pandemic period and the difficulties of the financial markets from which the Foundation of banking origin renews its resources. Morandini, thanking the Steering Body and the two Boards of Directors that followed, then wanted to mention two fundamental stages. The construction of the new headquarters in Udine with the rebirth of the historic building formerly of the Bank of Italy, now Palazzo Antonini-Stringher, which immediately became a cultural engine within the historic center of the city. And the transformation of the old headquarters in via Manin into a state-of-the-art student residence serving out-of-town students at the University of Udine. All results that have also been recognized at a national level, leading Morandini to be called to fill the role of deputy vice president of the Association of Foundations and Savings Banks (Acri) with important responsibilities, including that for institutional relations.
Bruno Malattia, a lawyer with long professional experience, presided over the Regional Criminal Chamber and for many years the Criminal Chamber of Pordenone. He was vice-president of Crup from 1981 to 2003 and enriched his experience in the banking sector as a member of the Board of Directors of Société Bancaire de Paris .
