From 9 to 11 July , the 4th National Summit on the Economy of the Sea – Blue Forum will be held in Rome , the main Italian event dedicated to the integrated governance and development of one of the strategic pillars of the country's economy. The Blue Forum is a unique event in the national panorama: every year it brings together all public and private stakeholders from all sectors of the Economy of the Sea for a transversal and constructive comparison . The 2025 edition will open on Wednesday 9 July at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso , with the presentation of the XIII National Report on the Economy of the Sea, produced by OsserMare and Centro Studi Tagliacarne - Unioncamere .
The work will continue on July 10th and 11th at the headquarters of Unioncamere , with over 100 speakers and the participation of the highest institutional officials of the Parliament and the Government, both in Italy and Europe. Among others, they have already confirmed their presence: the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, the Vice President of the Chamber Fabio Rampelli, the Ministers Musumeci, Santanchè, Lollobrigida, Abodi, Bernini, the Vice Ministers Leo and Rixi, the Undersecretaries Durigon and Barbaro, the Advisor to the President of the Council Loiero, the Vice President of the European Commission Fitto together with the presidents of parliamentary committees, numerous parliamentarians and MEPs.
The title chosen for this edition is: “Creating Value – The Sea in the Jubilee Year” , which also marks the debut of the Summit in the Capital, in the symbolic heart of the Holy Year, after the previous editions held in Gaeta , with the partnership of the Apostleship of the Sea – CEI and under the high patronage of the European Parliament . Important ecclesiastical representatives will be present. The aim is to promote an integrated vision of the Sea Economy as the key to the economic, cultural and social development of Italy, in dialogue with all the sectors involved.
" The Blue Forum confirms itself as a unique platform in Italy, the place where the voice of all stakeholders in the sea economy finds its maximum expression and coordination at a national level . This year we want to strongly affirm that economic growth, environmental protection and social and cultural development are deeply connected to the spiritual and value dimension that the sea expresses", underlines Giovanni Acampora, the president of Assonautica Italiana , Yes. Chamber and Chamber of Commerce Frosinone Latina , promoter of the Summit.
"In a symbolic year like 2025, we want to give a clear message: the sea is not only an economic resource, but a shared heritage, a space of cohesion, a place of welcome, hope and future . We are ready to build a blue community" - continues Giovanni Acampora, "capable of generating value for the new generations, in line with the European sustainability objectives and the global challenges that await us". Three pillars will guide the work of the Summit : Connectivity, Responsibility and Regeneration, which reflect both the growth needs of the Sea Economy and its value and social dimensions - in a context made even more complex by technological evolution (Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin, Space-Sea) and the global geopolitical situation.
A rich and transversal agenda will look at the sea as a lever for inclusive and competitive development and will be an important opportunity to share concrete strategies in view of the new Italian maritime planning 2026–2030. The National Summit on the Economy of the Sea Blue Forum - organized by the Chamber of Commerce Frosinone Latina, Informare, OsserMare and Assonautica Italiana in collaboration with Unioncamere - thus confirms itself as a crossroads between strategic vision, public policies and concrete action, in line with Italian and European priorities.
