Bini, for Piancavallo approximately 14 million in the three-year period 2025-2027

The next regional budget adjustment will provide an additional three million euros, bringing the total investment earmarked for the Piancavallo mountain resort for the three-year period 2025-2027 to nearly 14 million. Of this, approximately 5 million has already been used for projects completed or underway, confirming the ongoing work accomplished by the Region and PromoTurismoFVG in recent years.
The announcement was made today in Aviano by Regional Councilor for Tourism, Sergio Emidio Bini, during a meeting at the town hall with Mayor Paolo Tassan Zanin. The meeting served to review the progress of ongoing works and the development prospects for the Piancavallo ski and tourism hub. Deputy Minister of the Environment, Vannia Gava, was also present.
Among the projects envisaged in the regional plan, the new winter ski lift with a bike function for the summer is in the advanced stages of design, including a snowmaking system and slope re-profiling in the Col Alto area. The total investment in this area will be €4.6 million.
Also planned are the redevelopment of the Arneri Refuge, the renovation of the PalaPredieri to make it more versatile and suitable for various new sports disciplines, and the maintenance of the Arneri reservoir, which will be completed before the start of the 2025-2026 winter season.
"A series of interventions," Bini emphasized, "that will further increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of a ski resort that, thanks in part to its diversified offerings, is becoming a hub for mountain tourism year-round, with an increasingly rich calendar of events and activities, even in the summer months."
During the meeting, it also emerged that—particularly since the post-Covid period—the local real estate market has revitalized, with an increase in private investment and property prices. In this regard, the Region has played a crucial role early on, in partnership with the private sector, providing significant financial support for the redevelopment of the Park Hotel Montecavallo, one of Piancavallo's historic landmarks, dating back to the 1960s and long abandoned. The structure in Piazzale della Puppa will be revitalized thanks to a combined public and private investment totaling approximately €10 million.
Finally, the councilor highlighted the positive results achieved in the last ski season, with a record 5% increase in accommodation occupancy compared to the previous season and a 15.3% increase in first-time visitors to the slopes. "These numbers confirm the quality of the tourism offering and hospitality. With the interventions planned for the next three years," Bini concluded, "Piancavallo will be able to strengthen its attractiveness, promoting sports, nature, and hospitality year-round."
