Ubik Foggia is an adult, 18 years in the city and a train of encounters

“ Some of us, when this adventure began, had just turned eighteen. Others were a little older, but still had little road behind us and a long one ahead of us. We traveled it together. And together, we have arrived here, eighteen years later.” In the words of the three historic booksellers, all the excitement for a milestone that, precisely this month, comes to fruition: from November 1st, Ubik of Foggia comes of age . This is a significant achievement for the working group composed of Salvatore D'Alessio, Francesco Di Buduo, and Antonella Moffa , owners of the bookshop for three years, the same one where they were trained and through which they continue to train generations of readers. “For our eighteen years in the city,” they say, “we have planned a month of absolutely high-profile meetings. Many presentations, ranging from nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. But one watchword: quality.”
Lucetta Scaraffia, Elena Stancanelli, Marcello Fois, Fabio Bacà, and Federica Brunini : these are the five prominent names included in the November program, whose events, not coincidentally, will take place in the bookstore. This series of events kicks off on November 13th with one of the most authoritative scholars of Christian history and mysticism, recognized in Italy and abroad, as evidenced by her teaching position at the Sorbonne in Paris. And it continues with three extraordinary voices in Italian fiction, on November 14, 19, and 21 respectively: Elena Stancanelli, whose The Joy of Yesterday (Einaudi, 2025) is considered the outsider novel of the moment; Marcello Fois, accredited for the Strega 2026 with his marvelous The Immense Distraction (Einaudi, 2025); and the brilliant Fabio Bacà, a virtuoso of the word who was a finalist in both the Campiello and Strega 2022 prizes, fresh from the release of The Age of Aquarius (Adelphi, 2025). The five-part series concludes on November 24 with an immersion in the classics, and specifically in the narrative world of Jane Austen, the focus of Federica Brunini's latest book, published by Feltrinelli.
But #18anniUbikFoggia also features a world premiere of the poetry of Antonio Bux and Giammarco di Biase , two local voices now recognized nationally. The former, considered one of the most interesting poets in Italy, will present his Venere in pixel on November 12th ; the latter, after his exciting debut three years ago, returns to the bookstore on November 20th with a new collection entitled Solo le bestie. Finally, the program is rounded out by two other events that epitomize the bookstore's commitment to every cultural area: the meeting on November 26th between writer Gabriella Genisi and the young readers of the Santa Chiara-Pascoli-Altamura Institute, concluding a reading project; and the unscheduled event on November 28th with the reading group of the Ruolo Terapeutico of Foggia, expected in the bookstore to "psychoanalyze" the highly unusual Vampyr by Francesco Paolo de Ceglia , in the presence of the author. "This series," they comment from the bookstore, "represents our gift to our readers for these eighteen years, knowing that we have created a cultural hub recognized throughout Italy, and that we have done so together. There is only one way to consolidate this pact: support our initiatives. We, as always and even more so, will do our part."
