The Sinti feud in Lonato del Garda and the murder of Dolores Dori: investigations into two pistols found in the woods.

Dolores Dori, 43, was killed on the evening of October 2nd in the gypsy camp of Lonato del Garda.
Lonato del Garda (Brescia), November 8, 2025 – It remains to be seen whose belongings they were, before being hidden among the bushes. Whether they fired any shots is also unclear. But a connection to the murder of Dolores Dori seems likely. Two pistols are involved: one is a revolver—a Python model in .357 Magnum caliber—and the other is a Ruger 9mm caliber . The weapons, both in good condition, were found last November 4 by Carabinieri officers from the Provincial Investigative Unit and the Desenzano del Garda company in Lonato, near the illegal Roma camp where the forty-three-year-old Sinti woman was murdered.
Found in a bagThey were in a plastic bag abandoned in a wooded area. A place where since then—it was October 2nd—there has been no living soul. The military continues to investigate the incident. The person who pulled the trigger that killed the daughter of the "Queen of the Sinti of Pistoia " was Dori's father-in-law, Roberto Held , 50, who turned himself in ten days ago, taking full responsibility for the murder and is now in prison.
Heart and hierarchiesBut for the same incident, rooted in a family feud over rank and romance, the victim's mother, Amalia Levacovich , 59, and her sixteen-year-old nephew, Dori's son, were also arrested. They are instead charged with attempted murder. This is a story in which numerous guns, carried by both sides, were found, but never recovered.
For this reason, both the Magnum and the Ruger will be analyzed by forensic scientists with the aim of decoding their provenance, ownership, and use. Roberto Held told the Carabinieri and the investigating judge during the corroborating interrogation that he had fired blindly with two pistols after seeing the extent of the shooting attack organized by the victim and her mother. Dori and the "queen of the Sinti" had broken into the camp that day by car, having driven to Lonato specifically from Venice. They had backed the car into the camp gate.

One of the victim's 16-year-old sons was with them . The women had started shooting wildly in the direction of the trailers of Held, the father of a young man who had had a troubled relationship with one of Dori's daughters, while the boy filmed the scene on his smartphone. This detail later allowed investigators to reconstruct the background to the murder and frame the grandmother and the minor himself. Dori was apparently hit by three bullets, one of which struck her in the back, perhaps while she was running away.
