Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has spoken out on Alexander Isak's future during a pre-season press conference in South Korea.

Isak asked to be left out of the trip as he wants to explore a move away from the north-east this summer.

Liverpool are in pole position to sign the Swede after he rejected a move to Saudi Arabia.

Howe said: "He's still our player. He's contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what's next.

"I'd love to believe all possibilities are still available. We've received no formal offer. My wish has always been he stays, but that's not in my full control."

Borussia Dortmund are internally discussing a move for Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Germany.

The winger is free to leave Manchester United this summer and he could return to BVB for a third spell at the club.

A move for Sancho is not close but it is also 'not entirely closed', with United potentially willing to do a deal for as little as £15.6million.

Manchester United have made Ollie Watkins their top striker target, according to The Mirror.

Old Trafford chiefs hope that a figure between £40million and £45m will be enough to get the deal done with Aston Villa.

United are also keeping tabs on RB Leipzig marksman Benjamin Sesko but a deal for the Slovenian would be more expensive.

Ruben Amorim wants a proven Premier League goalscorer and Watkins fits the bill.

Arsenal are set to offload Fabio Vieira this summer and a suitor could be about to step forward.

According to Ben Jacobs, West Ham have added the Portuguese to their list of targets. The Hammers want multiple midfield additions before the deadline and Vieira is one of the players they are interested in.

Arsenal paid £34million to sign Vieira from Porto in 2022. And while they are unlikely to recoup the same figure, shifting him off the books would still come as a welcome boost to club bosses.

Chelsea are moving forward with deals for Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons.

Fabrizio Romano claims that talks with Ajax for Hato are in their 'final stages'. The teenager has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and an agreement with the Dutch club - expected to be around £35million - is edging closer.

The Blues are also in prime position to land Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

An 'opening bid' is being prepared, according to talkSPORT. And like the Hato deal, things could progress quickly once consensus is found over a fee.

It is understood that Leipzig could sell for a figure in the region of £60m.
