Emmerdale confirm Sadie King's return as Patsy Kensit reprises iconic role after 20 years

Patsy Kensit is set to make a highly anticipated comeback to Emmerdale later this year, stepping back into her beloved role as Sadie King.
Sadie, the former wife of Jimmy King, first graced the Dales in 2004, bringing with her a scheming personality and cutthroat ambition that fuelled countless dramatic plotlines, among them a house explosion and high-stakes affairs with a young Robert Sugden and Cain Dingle.
Sadie ultimately met her match at the hands of Cain, who betrayed her, made off with the ransom money, and callously abandoned her to her fate.
Reflecting on her much-anticipated return, Patsy said: "I am really excited to return to Emmerdale. I treasure the years I was here before.
"Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it's absolutely amazing."

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw says: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Patsy Kensit back to the cast and crucially to see the iconic Sadie King storm back into the village.
"Her return will be explosive and guaranteed to shock. Sadie's seductive demeanor, combined with her utterly ruthless nature, are set to deliver a spectacular and highly dramatic touch of class to the Yorkshire Dales."
During Patsy's tenure on Emmerdale, she was nominated for Sexiest Female and Soap B**h Of The Year. Since leaving Emmerdale 20 years ago, Patsy starred in BBC medical drama Holby City and in 2023, she appeared in rival soap Eastenders as Emma Harding, the mother of Lola Pearce.

Back In 2019, the actress told Digital Spy: "I loved the character of Sadie. She was someone who said all the things that people wanted to say in their lives but don't have the courage to.
"I did that five nights a week on that show – it was fantastic. I lived vicariously through her as she was such a cow.
"I really enjoyed it, I love those matriarchal kind of women and it's so nice to find a character who pushes the envelope a bit more with that. Never say never. "
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 8pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
