'Excellent' crime drama fans are 'binge watching in one day' set to return

Breaking Bad fans need to discover this "amazing" drama as its streaming platform announces its return.
Three years ago, viewers were introduced to the debut series of an action crime drama following a plumber whose existence descended into turmoil after learning his deceased father had stolen $10 million from the Russian mafia.
The "amazing" opening series saw him battling for survival from inside the mafia, with his existence becoming "more chaotic by the day" in the forthcoming second series of Average Joe.
Starring actor and comedian Deon Cole as plumber Joe Washington, Average Joe series two is scheduled to arrive on Paramount Plus on Wednesday, August 19.
Subscribers will gain access to the opening two episodes of the eight-part series, with subsequent weekly instalments as the streamer hints: "New country. New enemies. Same Joe."
The official preview for Average Joe series two states: "After the explosive events of season one, Joe Washington is trying to move forward when a mysterious threat targeting his family sends him and the gang to Cape Town, South Africa.
"What begins as a search for answers quickly spirals into a dangerous adventure involving international criminals, powerful enemies and long-buried secrets.
"As Joe, Leon, Cathy and Touch find themselves hunted across the city, they'll dodge assassins, outrun bounty hunters and attempt to survive a series of increasingly impossible situations that only seem to get more chaotic by the day.
"Because for Joe Washington, nothing is ever average."
Once again, Average Joe will see Deon Cole reprise his role as Joe Washington, alongside returning cast members Malcolm Barrett, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams and Michael Trucco.
Joining them are actress Katlego Lebogang as Imani, a character with ties to Joe's family, and Hakeem Kae-Kazim as Sipho, a "powerful Cape Town crime boss".
Heading to IMDb to heap praise on Average Joe, one devoted fan wrote: "This show is one for the books...A cranky, crime dramedy that ranks up there with shows like Fargo and Breaking Bad."
A second enthusiastic viewer exclaimed: "Absolutely love it...Lord this show was so freaking good, a must watch and my favourite show."
Others labelled it "amazing" and a "gem", while another enthused: "I sat here and binge watched it in one day. My suggestion is to give it a try. I think you will love it!".
Average Joe season two premieres on Wednesday, August 19, on Paramount Plus.
