LE FIGARO SELECTION - The heart of the citadel and the surroundings of the port city offer a wonderful glimpse of the gastronomy of southern Corsica.
Village bistros, beach restaurants, or tables with a view are all options for a gourmet break in this city overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The location. In the heart of the village of Saint-Cyprien, the brand-new Son de Mar hotel has dedicated its street-facing ground floor to the restaurant, presenting it as a fully-fledged address where there's no need to go through reception. You can sit down on the terrace at the wine bar for a few preludes, or directly in the restaurant, in the dining room with its designer furnishings or in the extension of the bar terrace.
The plate. The bistro-style approach is evident from the starters: a perfect egg with wilted spinach and hazelnuts, or a brioche tartine with goat cheese and sun-dried vegetables. For those worried about missing Corsica on the plate, they can rest assured with the grilled octopus and tomato gazpacho, the linguine with clams, or the rack of lamb served with creamy, candied eggplant.
