We can't avoid sports!

The City of Langres will renew its sports vouchers for Langres residents under 18 years of age at the start of the school year. Two tickets, worth €20 each, can be given to families for memberships to two different clubs.
At a time of disengagement by the State, which has abolished the Pass'Sport for under-14s, in order to restrict it to 14-17 year-olds only (see jhm quotidien of July 16, 2025), the sports coupons introduced at the start of each school year by the City of Langres are of particular importance this year. Municipal councilor delegated to Sports, Benjamin Lambert confirms that the system will be maintained: "There will be Sports coupons, under the same conditions as in previous years. For the time being, we are not changing anything."
These criteria are as follows: each Langres family with children under 18 years of age is awarded, if they collect them, two sports coupons worth 20 euros each, per young person. Each coupon can be used to join a sports association in the city of Diderot. Since sports are a municipal responsibility, this scheme cannot be extended to the entire Greater Langres community of communes.
"For us, it's a way to provide indirect subsidies to sports clubs," analyzes Benjamin Lambert. "In 2024, no less than 6,000 euros were distributed in this way." Well aware of the stakes caused by the drastic reduction of the state Pass'Sport, the majority municipal councilor nevertheless points out that "the City of Langres, like any other local authority, is not intended to compensate for the State's shortcomings..."
Nevertheless, he acknowledges that "the question has arisen" within the majority, of adding an additional effort. "This is not the case, for the moment, but we are giving ourselves the possibility. We will see, in a few weeks, what the real impact of the elimination of the Pass'sport is on the Langres clubs for those aged 13 and under, and we are not ruling anything out. But, be careful, nothing has been decided!"
As is the case every year, Sports vouchers will be available at the Fête des Associations, which will take place on Saturday, September 6. They can then be collected from the town hall, from the Sports department, until October 31.

Sports vouchers are even more important this year, following the abolition of the Pass'Sport offered by the State for children under 14.
