This 30-year-old from the Côte d'Azur will take part in the legendary Ironman in Hawaii after qualifying in Nice.

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin will be represented at one of the most legendary endurance sport events: the Ironman Kailua-Kona (Hawaii).
Florence Rambaud, 30, a private bank employee in Monaco, qualified during her first participation in the Ironman Nice on June 29.
"I am the sister of Stéphane Rambaud, organizer of the RCM triathlon and president of the local triathlon club," she says straight away. A passion that clearly runs in the family.
Let's recall the distances of this terrible XXL event: 3.8km of swimming, 180km of cycling and a marathon as a bonus.
Qualified in NiceFlorence discovered triathlon during the summer of 2021, after a past as a runner: "I come from running, which I practiced competitively as a child and teenager," she says.
Since then, she has been training regularly, and the chance of the calendar has led her to a new challenge: the Women's Ironman World Championships which will take place in Kailua-Kona (Hawaii) on October 11.
A qualification obtained in the Nice event where Florence finished 9th in the women's category in 11h25'27''.
Barely three months will pass between the Ironman in Nice and the one in Hawaii. "Given the very short time between the two events for such race formats, I don't have any specific training other than following the principle of my initial plan for Nice," explains Florence.
His weekly working hours are between 10 and 13 hours, in addition to his full-time job in Monaco, with 2 to 3 sessions of each discipline per week.
"Triathlon is a versatile sport that requires participants to be complete and, above all, very rigorous. It is a profound source of learning for me: both in surpassing oneself in terms of effort, resilience and patience, but also an incredible source of inspiration and sharing of human moments and reconnection with nature," she confides.
She also highlights the richness of the region: "The area is full of incredible varied spaces for practicing this sport."
Participating in the Hawaii Ironman also represents a significant financial investment. Florence has therefore launched a fundraising campaign to finance the bib ($1,650), logistics (for example, the price of the bike's transport box at €800 and its international shipping) as well as participation in the accommodation on site, which is "very expensive, given the scale and the number of people attracted by the event on the island."
Finances: a first challenge to overcome.
