For Donald Trump , it's a real boon. Back in the Oval Office for a second term since January 20, the President of the United States finds himself at the head of the next host country of the two biggest sporting events on the planet: the Men's Football World Cup, co-organized with Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and then the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles, California, from July 14 to 30, 2028. "Look what I have... I have everything!" he rejoiced on May 26, on the sidelines of a visit to the Arlington National Military Cemetery in Virginia, not far from the federal capital, Washington.

For the White House, it is a sign that the United States has once again become a "leading global destination," in keeping with the slogan dear to its tenant: "Make America great again." It is also an opportunity to "highlight the nation's pride and hospitality." And, with this in mind, the FIFA Club World Cup, which opens Saturday, June 14 in Miami, Florida, should serve as a dress rehearsal.
