Talence Décastar 2025: a high-profile line-up and Olympic medalists as headliners

In the men's competition, Paris bronze medalist Lindon Victor of Grenada, who won the title in 2022 in Gironde, will once again compete in the Gironde decathlon. Winner of the previous edition in 2024, reigning European champion Johannes Erm, who finished sixth at the Olympic Games last summer, will defend his crown, while Norwegian Olympic champion Markus Rooth has ultimately canceled his appearance.

They will be joined by Puerto Rican Ayden Owens-Delerme, German Niklas Kaul and Estonian Karel Tilga, with records exceeding 8,600 points (13 of the 19 athletes entered have exceeded this total). In the women's competition, Katarina Johnson-Thompson will be up against American Taliyah Brooks, third in the pentathlon at the Indoor World Championships, and Colombian Martha Araujo, seventh in Paris and winner of the 2024 Décastar. Of the 21 heptathletes present, five have records exceeding 6,400 points.
