OM: Video of the clash between Mason Greenwood and Amadou Onana during the match against Aston Villa

Marseille won 3-1 against Aston Villa thanks to a brace from returning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a less-than-friendly match. 11 yellow cards were issued in the match, including one to Mason Greenwood after an altercation.
The Englishman viciously brought down Amadou Onana before provoking him by sticking his tongue out. This caused the former Lille player to lose his temper, having come to confront the Marseille player. But Tyrone Mings got between the two players, keeping Greenwood at a distance.
The enfant terrible of English football had shone so far, opening the scoring and then providing an assist for Aubameyang. The Gabonese player, who came on half an hour from time, scored twice and gave OM the victory in his first appearance since returning from Saudi Arabia.
He also had to calm things down in a very choppy end to the match, marked for example by a stamp from Evann Guessand, who arrived from Nice and was booked for a nasty tackle before he had even touched the ball. Even Roberto De Zerbi and Unai Emery had their argument on the bench.
"Unai? He complained about my players and I didn't like that, it's up to me to talk to them, the opposing coach must take care of his players," explained Roberto De Zerbi.
Despite everything, OM finished their preseason undefeated, with victories against Girona (2-0) and two draws against Valencia and Sevilla (1-1), before this new success. The Olympians will kick off the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season with a trip to Rennes on Friday 15th, at 8:45 p.m.
