La Londe basketball players return to National 3

After two seasons spent in Nationale-3 (2022/2023 and 2023/2024) before a relegation and a year of purgatory in Pré-nationale, the basketball players of Esca Londaise will return to the N3 championship next season. A just reward for a team that has managed to overcome the disappointment of relegation and changes in management during the season.

Now, everything seems to be going well for the club, whose only concern will be to prepare in the best possible conditions for the upcoming season in their new division, as coach Mouss Diallo explained on Saturday evening after a final championship match without any stakes, since the Londais were already assured of promotion to N3, against a Cabriès team, last in the group, but who still gave the future nationals a hard time by losing by the score of 89-71 after having played on an equal footing until half-time and even leading at the end of the first quarter (20-21).

Mission accomplished

At the end, the coach was able to savor and take stock: "It has been a long season, quite difficult because it is never easy to maintain the course from start to finish against worthy teams. It was complicated, when we made the crossover with the other group for the second part of the season (top group). We lost the first match against Cagnes at home, but the guys stayed focused, and wanted to do the job. Last year, when I took over the team, we said to ourselves that whatever happens, we will do what is necessary to move up to Nationale 3 immediately and tonight, it is done and so it is cool and bodes well for the future."

As this season draws to a close, eyes are already turning to the next season. But the work is only just beginning, the coach reminds us: "For the moment, we don't really know. We're going to be promoted, that's a certainty for the club. But we haven't yet had the opportunity to meet with the management to find out how it's going to work in practice. We need to talk, to see a little bit how it's going to be organized, the resources that will be made available. But like during the off-season and when moving up a division, there will probably be adjustments to be made, that's important."

A positive balance Regular season (group A): 14 matches, 12 wins for 2 losses Phase 2 (high group): 14 matches, 12 wins for 2 losses
