Gymnastics: The Dordogne Children's girls reach National 1

At the national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the Enfants de la Dordogne (men and women) shone during the French championships on May 23 and 24.
This is a first for the Boulazac club. This Friday, during the French Championships, Taïna Virlogeux, Kélia N'Diaye (bronze medalist at the French Individual Championships), Camille Traxel, and Maïlyss Buczek finished on the third step of the podium and thus secured their ticket to the National 1, the elite level of French gymnastics.
And the Périgourdines could even have finished first, since they narrowly missed out (150.687) behind Paris 15 (151.762) and Brive (151.796). They will therefore be playing at the highest level next season. A level that the boys managed to maintain.
The boys held onTheir ambition wasn't necessarily to climb back to the Top 12, as coach Julien Montagut told "DL" a few weeks ago, so the Boulazac gymnasts did their best to stay in the top 12. They did lose Quentin Gimeno to injury, but the team led by Jonathan Ackermann, who was very confident after the French Championships, Ruddly Bordelais-Maisonnable (three silver medals), Baptiste Brotier, Alphonce Burbail, and Simon Ostergaard, did the job. They finished 5th with 289.115 points. A great performance for a fairly young group.
