Welcome money in the coffers of French football. Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), announced this Saturday, May 24, the signing of a major naming contract between the Coupe de France and Crédit Agricole for a period of three years. A financial transaction that will "well exceed ten million euros" over three years, FFF president Philippe Diallo announced on Saturday.
This contract will come into effect from the 2025-26 edition, the manager specified in front of some media a few hours before the final between Paris SG and Reims at the Stade de France this evening at 9 p.m.
This is the first time that the Coupe de France, whose inaugural edition dates back to 1918, has entered into a naming agreement. The French championship, however, has used it for many years. Pèle itself, Ligue 1 Orange from 2002 to 2008, then partnered with Conforama (2017-2020) and Uber Eats (2020-2024), before McDonald's since the 2024-25 season. Crédit Agricole, a partner of the FFF since 1974, is also a sponsor of the French national team.
Philippe Diallo welcomed this financial boost for the Coupe de France, which he described as "the second economic lung of the FFF after the French team ," but indicated that he could not "give the exact figure" for the naming contract.
The head of the Federation now hopes that television rights for the event will rise again after a sharp decline. Under the current contract, which covers the period 2022-2026, beIN Sports and France Télévisions pay around €12 million per season to broadcast the competition.
"It was a disappointment to see the fees drop in previous editions," admitted Philippe Diallo, announcing the launch of the next call for tenders for next autumn.
