The temperature is rising between E.Leclerc and pharmacists. The retailer's latest advertising campaign, which challenges pharmacists' monopoly on over-the-counter medications, has sparked a fever pitch among pharmacy owners. They are particularly critical of the manufacturer's staging of paracetamol.

In this thirty-second advertisement broadcast on television at the end of April, E.Leclerc humorously denounces the impossibility of selling this basic product in family medicine cabinets and first aid kits in its drugstores. This legislation is "absurd," according to the retail professional. "A drugstore that doesn't have the right to sell paracetamol, but that's paranormal," one of the protagonists in the sequence complains.

Pharmacists, however, are not particularly keen on the joke. "Is it wise to trivialize the use of this health product, the misuse of which can have serious consequences? " emphasizes Bruno Maleine, president of the Central Council of Pharmacists with the National Order of Pharmacists.
