Saarland. A little salt in Franco-German friendship thanks to song

For fourteen years, the former Sulzbach saltworks, transformed into a cultural space, has hosted the Franco-German Singer-Songwriters Award. This prize is coveted by outstanding artists and also strengthens ties between the Saarland and Moselle regions. It took place on the evening of Saturday, May 10th, in Sulzbach, with four original artists making the finals.

Sulzbach has all the makings of a pleasant provincial town, surrounded by green hills and marked by the salt mining that made its fortune. The town is integrated into the regional community of Saarbrücken, and its image is linked to music in the broadest sense: the largest guitar store in the Saarland is located there, but above all, the Salt Mill, a former industrial building witnessing a glorious era due to white gold and transformed into a cultural forum, has hosted the only Franco-German song contest since 2011.
