This Thursday, June 19, a heatwave begins in France, with temperatures regularly reaching 35°C or higher. Several departments, particularly in Brittany and Poitou-Charentes, will be placed on orange heatwave alert starting tomorrow, as an international study asserts that it is no longer possible to limit global warming to +1.5°C.
Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau is launching a massive national operation to monitor illegal immigrants in train stations, on trains, and on buses. The left is denouncing a "manhunt" targeting exiled people: 4,000 law enforcement officers are being mobilized this Thursday, and 47,000 people have already been arrested this year.
And then the United States has just approved a new preventive treatment for the AIDS virus, based on biannual injections that are much more convenient than the current daily pills. These PrEPs, in the form of tablets or injections, are intended for people at high risk of contracting HIV. However, the price of Yeztugo remains a major obstacle, given that AIDS still kills 600,000 people each year worldwide.
