"The relationship between the mayor and his first deputy mayor must be based on absolute trust, and I no longer felt that way," Côme Tollet, who is resigning and leaving the municipal council, told Le Progrès. He had served as interim mayor following Philippe Cochet's withdrawal from public life.
The news has broken: after careful consideration over the summer, Côme Tollet has decided to hand in his retirement as first deputy mayor and even as municipal councillor.
