Jordan Bardella makes big promises to employers to fend off irresponsibility lawsuit

After several years of languidly sparring with the bosses, the president of the National Rally (RN), Jordan Bardella, is alert to any missteps that might scare off his prey. The expected overthrow of François Bayrou's government on Monday, September 8, will be one of them, since the latter proposed an austerity budget preserving supply-side policy as well as the credibility of the French signature. In a joint appeal to political leaders, published in the magazine Challenges , six leaders of employers' organizations support the Prime Minister's continued tenure, in order to break the cycle of political instability and economic uncertainty that results from it.
So for a week now, Jordan Bardella has been trying to convince people with the opposite reasoning, "a bit far-fetched," admits one advisor: "Stability means dissolution." The far right, which feared the impact on economic circles of an inevitable censure of François Bayrou in the fall, blesses the centrist for having brought forward his fall: he alone will be held responsible, they hope. "Nothing healthy and nothing stable can emerge in this situation ," argued Jordan Bardella on Wednesday, September 3, on RMC and BFM-TV. "I cannot stand this blackmail of irresponsibility. We have always been responsible. (...) We cannot afford 20 billion euros in additional taxes."
